Camping on a Holiday Break at Tingko Beach Resort, Alcoy Cebu

When you are single and working alone away from home, what is more exciting than having a break and enjoy your holiday vacation? For the past 3 years of working in here in Cebu, it is also 3 years that i haven't visited my relatives and families who past away during all souls day. Even during holidays, we have work. We are in service business and we are open 7 days a week. I treated my co-workers as my family. They are with me for the past 3 years, through thick and thin, richer or poorer. Christmas or new year, even on my birthdays and heartbreaks, they are the one who is on my side always.

Last November 1 and 2, we decided to go camping at Argao, Cebu. I divided my manpower and make sure that there were enough staffs to work for holiday, 8 were left at the store and 6 is with me. We planned to meet at Cebu South Terminal at 5:30 in the morning since there were many passengers who where also travelling back to their provinces. We rode a bus from the terminal and our journey to Argao last for 3 and a half hours. Upon reaching Argao, we decided to buy basic needs and foods at the town market. So we bought 2 big fishes amounting 180 each, 4 kilos of rice (P45.00/kl), sauces, charcoal, banana and sweet potato for snacks and of course water to drink.

After the buying our foods at the market, we head up to the local beach at Argao but find it unsatisfying and we decided to go to Alcoy instead. Because of the holiday season, we find it hard to catch for jeepneys and buses that will bring us directly to Alcoy. After a long wait, (about 1 hour) there is a jeepney that is heading to Dalaguete, a town before Alcoy. So we decided to rode and stopped over again to the town and rode another jeepney to Alcoy. The fare from Argao to Dalaguete is P20.00 and about 30 mins drive and from Dalaguete to Alcoy was P15.00. Finally! we stopped at Tingko Beach Resort, Alcoy. There were 3 resorts available there. The first one is for the locals with just P10.00 entrance fee but no cottages available. In between is a foreign managed resort that has a good view and landscape but is more expensive. The third one has a cottages, rooms, videoke and amenities available. We are also allowed to put up tents instead of renting cottage. We just pay P200.00 for the space needed for our camping gears.

After setting up our tent, we decided to cook for lunch. We grilled our fish and cooked the rice at the "abuhan". After lunch, we decided to rest for a while while the sun is still up and hot. Some get sleep while others played card games.

In going to beach, of course we should not forget our sunnies and sunblocks!

The nice thing here in Tingko Beach Resort, Alcoy is its white sand. Place is so clean and fresh, the place were not crowded and you can really enjoy the serenity of the sea. There were local families enjoying the holiday at the beach, but then in totality, you can have privacy at the place.

After several poses, we decided to swim at around 5pm. The sun was gone and the sea is calm. We rented a floating airbed for P200.00. All ladies were on the top of the airbed, while the guys pushes us to the deep part of the sea.

What more fun than eating up grilled marshmallows while listening about horror stories? isn't it really fit for this Halloween season?

We woke up at 5:30 in the morning to prepare ourselves to travel back at the city. Around 6am, we are waiting alongside at the highway for the bus to arrive. Not too long, Ceres Bus liner passed by. Fare was P115.00 and for about 4 hours of travel, we are finally back to reality. We dropped our things at the house and directly go to the store to work :)
